Bonnie Gausewitz Is . . .
A Realtor that whole-heartedly embraces her role as a real estate advisor who thoughtfully guides her clients through the most important decision of their lives – finding a home that will ultimately become their private sanctuary. Plain and simple, she loves helping others. That’s why she believes the best part about the business will never have as much to do with selling homes, as it does the opportunity it affords her to be a mentor and connect on a very personal level with her clients.
A second generation Realtor, Bonnie was raised in North Tustin where she attended Arroyo Elementary, Hewes Intermediate and Foothill High schools, and also continues to reside. She stays strongly connected through her active community involvement and the 28 years she has spent dedicatedly working for Seven Gables Real Estate – the company founded 38 years ago by her mother and step-father. She has in fact, consistently ranked among the top 5% of sales associates in North Tustin since she began her career, which can in large part be attributed to the clients whose lives she touches in such a positive and professional manner and who consistently refer her to others – a fact to which she credits 95% of her business. Perhaps most valuable to her clients is the knowledge she has from having grown up and raised kids in the community she serves, especially incoming families that benefit from the expert advice she offers about the pre-schools, sports programs, doctors and other services as only a long standing local is able.
While her real estate knowledge and experience is unmistakable, it’s her zest for life, passion for gardening & architecture and the joy she gets from representing the community she not only calls home but is dedicated to preserving that connects her so deeply to generations of clientele.
Articulate and well-versed in all aspects of the business, Bonnie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a teaching credential in English from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a Master of Arts degree in Directing from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating, she spent several years teaching English, Journalism and Drama for personal development within the California school districts of both Arroyo Grande and Encinitas.
Given her commitment to raising kids in an environment that will build self-esteem through ensemble work with peers, risk-taking and performance, she dedicated eight years to teaching after school acting classes at Arroyo Elementary and subsequently, founded the school’s long-standing and popular annual Variety Show. In addition, she participated in the Junior Great Books program at both Arroyo and Hewes schools – a parent volunteer program that teaches kids to view literature on a deeper level.
While her children attended the local schools, she was constantly attuned to ways in which she could help improve the educational environment be it through teaching, spearheading “think tank” collaborations or playing an active role in raising funds for site improvements. To that end, she actively participated on several parent boards including Foothill High school’s Parent Teacher Association and served on the campus site committees for both Hewes and Foothill High schools. She is a proud past recipient of the Tustin Unified School Districts’ Coordinating Council Volunteer of the Year Award.
Other notable community contributions include her co-founding with her daughter the Aquachievers Swim Team dedicated to special needs kids in the Tustin community & recently, the North Tustin Neighborhood Watch Facebook page (www.facebook.com/northtustinneighborhoodwatch), which was established to create better community awareness and now has over 1,500 followers. Her other Facebook page Under the Tustin Sun welcomes followers to post about what’s happening in and around the Tustin community.
When not selling real estate, Bonnie actively supports the Tustin Public Schools Foundation and is a member of the Assistance League of Tustin (for which she previously served as Vice-President), as well as the Good Earth Garden Club.
A devoted mother, Bonnie’s two children followed in her footsteps at her alma mater, Cal Poly – her son Brad graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, while daughter Hailey graduated with a BA in Communications like her mother. Both are employed full time in careers which allow them to share their talents.
A dedicated and compassionate professional, Bonnie brings balance to her life by doing activities that stimulate and nurture the mind, heart and soul.
